The next Steps to Lead Date: TBA Location: LutheRanch Cost: $75
We believe in the leadership of the young people and that they are called to lead in the world we live in. Because of this, we have a leadership retreat for high schoolers the first weekend in June. The purpose of the retreat is to grow their capacity to use leadership to address tough problems through partnership and agency. Throughout the weekend, young people are given the opportunity to learn, reflect, and practice how they can use leadership to make a lasting impact as disciples. Once open, the application is available on thecalendar page.
Bishop Wright, Mary Hooper, a leadership professor at Clark Atlanta, and Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries Easton Davis, are the facilitators of the retreat. How do we use the teaching of Jesus to lead like him, especially in a polarizing world? And what are the next steps our young people can take to live into who Jesus calls us to be? Steps to Lead aims to find answers to these questions and partner with young people ready to take certain steps in leadership.
The target ages are rising 10th, 11th, 12th, and those graduating in May. This is an intense program meant for those willing to work hard and make steps towards leading like Jesus. It is a competitive application process. If you or you know someone who might be interested, contact us for information on the next Steps to Lead.
